Nominator's project description
| Professor Yodh is a leading international scientist in the areas of soft condensed matter physics and biomedical optics. He is well known for ground-breaking experiments manipulating, measuring and using entropic forces to control assembly in colloidal suspensions, for creative use of temperature-sensitive polymers and microgel spheres in his studies, and for research with lyotropic liquid crystals. In Germany, he will study the physics of non-equilibrium phenomena, namely disorder-order transitions and artificial colloidal micro-swimmers. |
